Sydney Juggling

Juggling (in Sydney) makes you happy.

They juggle rings. They juggle balls, They juggle clubs. They juggle in rain, in sunshine, indoors, outdoors, in Europe, Australia and around the world. If you want to hire Sydney Jugglers, be quick, they’re skilled, popular and exciting. They’re also fun and will brighten your birthday party, your corporate event or children’s entertainment.

We’ve added some new places to buy juggling props on our buying page. Our friends at the Circus shop in Perth are happy to help jugglers and circus performers with their orders, and Sophie and her staff will talk about where, and how, to get  those hard to find items too.

The most exciting thing happening in the Australian juggling world is the Melbourne Juggling Convention on 28th September. Special guest this year is Emil Dahl. Emil, from Sweden, is one of the most well known and skilled jugglers in the world. Of course, no MJC is complete without Australia’s world class jugglers, and they’ll all be there too.

MJC is always great value. Check out their page, visit the gala show or go to a workshop. This is the biggest juggling event in the Australian Juggling calendar. Don’t miss it.

In local news, Marrickville Fire Jam is continuing at Enmore Park. If you want to spin fire, or practice your flow skills, or just hang out, Enmore Park is a great place to do it. This month they are holding fire jams at 7pm on the 30th of August and the 14th September.

Now the school holidays are over, the University juggling clubs are back. You can contact them through our juggling meetups page.

Don’t forget to follow us on instagram

Out Insta page features some skilled international and local jugglers. It also features some people new to the art of juggling, and you can tell how much they enjoy it by the smiles on their faces.

It’s impossible to be sad when juggling, because Juggling is fun, social ,and an art form for all the family. It keeps you fit and makes you happy.

So do yourself a favour and become a happy juggler today.

Sydney Juggling- March for Juggling….

As summer leaves us the jugglers of Sydney are returning home to throw juggling balls, juggling rings and juggling clubs. They’ve  been training hard for the new year and are ready to perform for your children’s birthday party, corporate event, fete, fair or celebration. Why not hire a juggler today?

January and February were all about overseas travel with many adventures with Italian and French jugglers. Check out our Instagram page for some amazing European performers. Some preview pictures are above.

And for more incredible jugglers have a look at the IJA tricks of the month.

If you want to buy some new juggling props, try our friends at Oddballs in London, their prices are good for Aussies. Locally, Juggleart is the place to buy your juggling balls. And if you want to learn juggling, or just throw things in the air randomly and pretend it’s juggling ,check out the local juggling clubs.

The universities are back in session, and both Circusoc at UNSW, and SURCAS  at the  University of Sydney are holding meetings and training sessions regularly. Non students are also welcome to join these sessions. The prices are cheap, and the quality is high.

And sometimes we like to acknowledge magicians too, because they are fellow performers. Happily Sydney has a very vibrant magic scene and in June there will be a huge magic convention which will be a riotously fun event full of….ummmm…..magic!

But remember, juggling is real, whilst magic is only illusionary.

Happy juggling.

Happy Juggling New Year

What do Jugglers do on New Years Eve? They juggle. They juggle balls ,juggling rings, juggling clubs, and, sometimes they juggle sparklers. Why not hire a juggler for your next corporate event or kids party and make it a juggling and sparkling New Year for you and your workforce? It’s a great activity that builds trust, teamwork and for kids it’s outrageous fun.

There’s good news and bad news in the Sydney Juggling World. The good news is that our friends Joe Fisher and Kenny Cheung are now officially in the top 40 most popular jugglers in the world. This is the first time that two Australian jugglers have been in the top 40. It’s a great achievement for both of the jugglers and also for Australian juggling. Congratulations !

The bad news is that the Newcastle Juggling Convention has been postponed. Organising a juggling convention is incredibly time consuming and difficult and we know that the people involved in this project really worked hard to get it running for Australia Day. Unfortunately circumstances didn’t come together for that date, but jugglers in Australia are really hoping that the convention can happen later this year.

However, if you are thinking about a convention, why not go to the New Zealand Juggling and Circus Festival? It’s on in February and it’s a great occasion for Australasian jugglers. Details can be found on their webpage.

Our new year resolutions involve juggling (surprise!), and we recommend that you make it one of yours too. There are many great juggling clubs in Sydney, visit one, have fun and become….a juggler!

And remember, juggling lights up your life…..

In Sydney- a juggle a day keeps the blues away….

The year might end, but juggling balls, rings and clubs goes on forever, because there is always something new to learn. And in Sydney there are lots of places you can learn how to juggle.

In great news, our own Kenny Cheung got a highly commended award at the Australian Circus Festival. Congratulations Kenny, your ‘Go’ routine was fantastic. If you want to see this great juggler live,  you can hire him or another Sydney entertainer just by visiting our Sydney Jugglers page.

If you happen to be looking for last minute presents for the festive season, think about buying your best friend, crush, child, cousin, mother, brother, sister, lover, husband. wife, partner, significant other, or random stranger, some juggling props. Balls, rings and clubs are all available at numerous places in Australia and overseas.

In other news, the annual vote for the 40 most popular jugglers of 2017 is going on right now and it ends soon. So if you haven’t voted yet, get moving and vote. And don’t forget the amazing jugglers of Oz.

January 26th is getting closer, so it’s time to buy tickets for the Newcastle Juggling Convention. It’s the most fun you can have standing up. It’s cheap, and it doesn’t involve drunken renditions of Waltzing Matilda. If you’re not a juggler you can still go and have a look at the amazing Sagi Bracha who is the international guest. WOW!

In very big news, Cirque du Soleil is holding auditions. Yes CIRQUE DU SOLEIL is holding auditions in Australia.  So if you’re a performer, definitely look into this one.

We’ve had a great year at Sydney Juggling, world records, pancakes, EJC, visitors from Japan, visitors from Circussoc, visitors from Mars….(Ok I might have made that one up!) Hoopers, diabolists, hat twirlers, flow artists, athletes, it’s been fun and we’d like to thank everybody who has visited us in person or joined us on Instagram.

We loves youse all…

And we’d like to wish everybody a safe, happy, wonderful and exciting holiday season and a new year full of juggling adventures.

Remember,

A juggle a day keeps the blues away….

Peace, love and juggling……

Sydney Juggling – Creativity and Fight Nights in Sydney

It’s all about being creative as we juggle balls, juggling rings, juggling clubs and hula hoops this month at Sydney Juggling. We’re also really busy working as kid’s party entertainers and at corporate events. This is the busy season, so if you want to hire a great juggler for your special occasion, be quick.

If you’re really lucky you can hire the amazing Shiho Sparkle Hooper or the equally incredible Kenny Cheung, who are featured in the pictures above.

In great news for Sydney jugglers, Circus Akimbo in Hornsby is now hosting juggling ‘Fight Nights’.  All the action is taking place on the first Tuesday of each month. If you haven’t seen a juggling fight night, go and have a look.  We hear that they’re letting spectators in for free.

Of course if you are into the less aggressive forms of juggling you can join us at our meetups once a week. Or if you just want to watch some fine juggling shenanigans, you can check out our instagram page.

Last month we were visited by the IJA, but unfortunately, they’ve now left Australia. However, they also left us a wonderful legacy. Our Oceania champion is Joe Fisher, who performed brilliantly in Melbourne. Congratulations to Joe and to all the finalists who provided a fantastic display of Australian juggling that really impressed the locals and our international visitors. Juggling is Joy

The spring sunshine is making Sydney jugglers yearn for juggling balls, clubs and rings and they’ll be using all three at the Melbourne Juggling Convention.

But before that, the International Juggling Association is holding their Oceania Regional Competition. We’re thrilled that Sydney’s Kenny Cheung is a finalist and equally thrilled that our friend from Tasmania, Joe Fisher, is one too. Congratulations to everybody who made it. If you want to see them in action, pop along to the show in Melbourne and be prepared to have your mind blown.

Or if you prefer to hire Kenny, or another wonderful juggler for your kid’s party entertainment or corporate event, you can check out the professionals at Sydney Jugglers.

Perhaps you’re in the mood to hire balloon twisters, face painters, unicyclists, hoopers and clowns? Well you can just contact our friends at Fun23 entertainment who will provide all sorts of talented children’s party entertainers for you. They’re fabulous, professional, and absolutely juggly.

Sydney Jugglers are continuing to meet up once a week in various halls around Sydney. Everybody is welcome, but if you just want to have a peek at what we do, you can check us out on Instagram.

And when you decide to become a juggler, you can buy some wonderful props from Oddballs, the friendliest juggling shop in Europe, and don’t forget the competition at Juggling TV, where you can win some great prizes.

and never, ever forget…….

juggling = joy

Sydney Juggling- Spring is for Jugglers

File_000 (5)

Jugglers in Sydney love spring.  The sun is shining, the birds are singing and there are lots of great  shows where we can entertain people by juggling balls, rings and clubs and anything else that happens to be nearby.

If you’re hosting a kid’s party, a corporate event or simply want to celebrate the return of flowers, kookaburras and warm weather, you should hire a Sydney juggler to make it an even hotter occasion.

This time of year is so exciting because there are so many juggly and circussy things happening.

Locally, the University of NSW Circus Society is holding an extravaganza at Studio One Sydney from September 14-16. It’s called, Out of Line: A Story of Misadventures, and will be a showcase of acrobatics, aerial work and juggling. It’s guaranteed to be fun with lots of young circus performers doing weird stuff. Pop along for a fabulous night out.

Then in Melbourne, from September 21-22, the International Juggling Association is holding its Oceania Regional Competition. Some of the best jugglers in the world will be competing for the honour of being the Oceania Juggling Champion. This will be an incredible display of the most accomplished jugglers in our region.

Afterwards you might want to visit the Melbourne Juggling Convention, held in Collingwood from September 22-25.

Finally, our great friends at Juggling TV are holding a fantastic competition where jugglers can win prizes for just sending in videos. The prizes are from Oddballs, our favourite international juggling shop, where you can buy almost anything juggly or hoopy or diablo-ey. They also post worldwide, so Aussie Jugglers don’t miss out.

Remember if you want to practice for your Juggling TV video or for the IJA you can come and join us for meetups once a week in the inner city of Sydney. Or if you are interested in watching us in action you can have a sticky beak (look) at our instagram page.

And as they say in Vlagtwedde,

Play!

Sydney Juggling

Sydney Juggling at EJC

IMG-9051

Jugglers from Sydney and from around Australia were well represented at the European Juggling Convention (EJC) this year.

The convention was a great opportunity for Sydney jugglers to meet circus performers and traders from around the world.

One highlight was meeting Alex from Oddballs juggling shop in London who kindly spent time chatting with us. We love the Oddballs juggle dream juggling balls which are making 5 ball patterns much easier to accomplish.

We’re very grateful to the people of Lublin in Poland for hosting the EJC and to the European Juggling Association for their hard work in organising it.

At home in Sydney, we are currently working hard on corporate events, kid’s parties, and openings. Visit our juggler pages if you want some unique entertainment for your special occasion.

Sydney Juggling is still meeting once a week in air conditioned halls. These are free meetups and details can be found on our meetup page.

There are lots of EJC videos on our Instagram and of course you can drop us an email at any time.

Until next time

Remember as our friend Concertino says.

“Follow your heart and juggle with your life! I hope you don’t drop but if you do, you’ll learn something”

Sydney Juggling

Juggling, in Sydney, is beautiful.

Winter is here and Sydney jugglers continue to juggle balls, rings, clubs and hats, despite battling freezing fingers and colder weather. That’s why it’s great to have air conditioned halls to juggle in.

However, we are lucky to be juggling in Sydney. The temperature rarely dips below 10 degrees Celsius and that’s at night, and during the day there is usually sunshine, so heading to the parks to juggle is possible. Unlike Europe, we don’t have to battle snow and ice and slippery grass to throw things in the air and catch them.

Sydney jugglers are preparing to go to Europe to enjoy the The European Juggling Convention. It’s in Poland this year and we hope to meet many jugglers from around the world. European juggling has a unique flowing style which brings a beauty and balletic quality to the juggling art. It is a joy to watch and difficult to learn.

Sydney jugglers are also a joy to watch and they will bring beauty and amusement to your corporate event or kid’s party. Just contact them to find out what they can do for you.

Next week our friends at the Sydney Trapeze School are having a circus caberet night. It should be a great show, there may even be some juggling!

As we battle the cold weather and prepare our props for the long journey to Europe, we wish everybody a safe and peaceful week.

Remember

Juggling is beautiful.

Sydney Juggling

Sydney Juggling on Unicycles.

Despite a completely chaotic world, Sydney Jugglers continue to bring joy, laughter and astonishment to everyone by juggling balls, rings, clubs and sometimes doing all three on unicycles.

World juggling day was a great success with about 50 people in attendance. There were young jugglers, old jugglers, Sydney jugglers and international jugglers. A good time was had by all.

Many there were honing their skills for corporate entertainment or kid’s parties. A juggler is a great addition to a special event and Sydney jugglers have the experience and skills to make your occasion a memorable one.

July is EJC (European Juggling Convention) month. Nine days of juggling and more juggling with lots of shows from world class entertainers. At least one Sydney juggler will be performing and others will be attending and picking up whatever juggling skills (and gossip) they can.

Juggling is good for the mind, the spirit and the body. It brings happiness, fulfilment and challenges. Once you pick up a juggling ball and start to throw, you’re hooked.
Check out our pages for juggling meetups and our links if you want to buy juggling balls, rings or clubs.

Please note, we strongly recommend learning to juggle while standing with two feet on the ground before graduating to unicycles.
Peace, joy, and juggling…
